It Can Happen to You

This album is now in my posession. This is only news in respect to the fact that this is not your ordinary CD.

It is country music.

What is perhaps more interesting is that I like it.

Sit down Brandy, it's all going to be OK. I was as shocked as you are! I'm not sure how it happened, but it did, and not only do I like it, but I know the words.

And as those of you who sang beside me in choir know, words are not something that come easy to me.

I've mostly developed an affection for the newer releases, such as "Today" by some guy in a hat (Kenny Chesney?), "Believe" by Brook(e)s and Dunn, "When I Get Where I'm Going", by another guy in a hat and Dolly Parton, plus a couple others like Sugarland and I particularly like "Boondocks" by Little Big Town. It's been a while since I've been able to listen to a radio station not brought to you by the letter R, so I'm a bit rusty on the names.

Anywho, it happened, I like some country music. Not only that, but the kind country music I'm particularly fond of is close to that which those in the know call "mountain music". You know, like grandma and grandpa used to play. No slide guitar thank-you, but I like me the banjo and harmonica.

It's partly due to nostalgia, having lived in the deep south of country music, and partly due to the fact that I'm kind of tired of what else is out there at the moment and I haven't found many new artists that I'm fond of.

So enjoy your moment Brandy, you said it'd happen, and it did.

Meanwhile: "I'll grab a line, you grab a pole. We'll go fishin' at the crawfish hole........"

Did you know that Brooks &Dunn are commin to the pope site this year.... August 18th, I bet I will see you there...

The other guy in the hat is Brad Paisley, he's great. I think you would appreciate most of his other songs too, he's a different kind of country and a bit of a comedian.

Another great Rascal Flatts song is "what hurts the most".

I am so proud... I am so excited...except you are not here to enjoy it with me.

I've heard the "alcohol" song, which I think is Brad Paisley...

The "what hurts the most" song is the reason I got the CD... loverly.

I don't know that I'll be heading to a concert you know, but I'll definitely consider it :)

Hehe, it's true, you DO have a bit of a problem with remembering words... at least you did in choir. Hehehe I miss you and choir! Can't wait to see Evelyn here in Moncton! Woot!
