I Dream of Beaches

Negotiations are currently underway to decide the time and location of this year's camping trip. The members of said camping party will be the same as last year's main event: Miramichi Wedding '06. Though, naturally, I'm always open to new contenders, *cough*.

Here are this year's nominees (as chosen by me):

1) Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park and Camp Resort - You think I'm kidding, but it's a real place... I've seen the signs.

2) Sherwood Forest - And sticking with a theme, I think this place might be nifty. Complete with Robin Hood and his Merry Men.

3) Look-Off Family Camping - Moving away from fictional characters, this place looks beautiful.

4) Klahanie Kamping - This place just has a cool name.

5) South Mountain Park and Campground - This one doesn't look too bad either...

Prices were comparable... most hovering around the $20-$25 mark. Though most of the sites I visited didn't charge full price for additional adults/tents sharing a site. So an even split might actually keep the cost down.

Those still tuned in may have noticed that I'm sticking to the Valley area of Nova Scotia. I'm open to anything really (Cape Breton would be cool), but here is a mere smattering of the things we could do...

Upper Clements Park
Oaklawn Farm Zoo
Grand Pre
Gaspereau Vineyards
Cape Blomidon

So what do y'all think?

Edit: Kejimkujik National Park is a natural choice as well. Though it's a little further away from the above listed attractions, it is closer to such things as Fort Anne in Annapolis Royal (voted the best place to live in North America, or something like that... not the fort... the town).

What about Kejimikujick national park?? It's near Upper Clements (I think) and all those other valley fun sorts of things!
It has an awesome name, which I think I spelled incorrectly. You can rent kayaks and stuff. I don't know how much it costs but it is certainly beautiful

oh and PS that yogi bear place that is somewhere in NB looks like a real dive. Who wants to camp on the side of the transcanada highway?

Ahem, the Yogi bear place is actually in the annapolis Valley, and though it is just off of the highway, the highway in the valley (NS) doesn't really count because it's only two lanes...

but agreed, it does look like a cheesy place, I think that's why it appeals to me.

Am I the only one who is dead set on somewhere that we can go tubing?

I love it and I need it!! Unless there is something out there that is equal to or more fun than tubing? I am doubtful but open to new and exciting ideas.

That said, I am only one person and my vote only counts as one. So if you all want to head on down to Keji I will certainly follow. (Although I camped there once and found it extremely boring. But I suppose it would be alot more fun with all you hoodlums.)

I miss you guys alot so I guess I really don't care where we go as long as we're all together. (awwww, special).

Love yous!

P.S. Em are you guys coming camping this year? That would be so fun!

Okay so the South Mountain Park site looks awesome. I vote to go there. AND it's close to tubing! But seriously, even if it didn't I would still want to go there.

One vote - South Mountain Park and Campground.

There's a place to go tubing in the annapolis valley somewhere around wolfville. Big hit with the university crowd.

From experience, South Mountain Park is the best campground i've ever been to. I've gone at least a few times a year with my parents when I was young. I vote for South Mountain Park.
