Happenstance

Not much is new around the farm these days. Plans re: moving have changed slightly in that I won't be living in a house, and it'll just be me and Ma. Boy am I excited.

I'm not sure what the date is anymore. I'm thinking November 1, but December 1 has also floated around. Who knows!

I am very excited for the coming weekend. Most significantly I'm not working, something that hasn't happened on a weekend in decades (or thereabouts). Other than that I'm going to the Joel Plaskett at the Evergreen Theatre in Margaretsville, NS (go ahead, follow the links, you may learn something). It'll be a great show in a unique venue... the same venue where I attended DVBS way back in the day, and where my parents got hitched even more back in the day. But we all know how that turned out! It's in a decommissioned church operated now by Fundy Folk, they bring in all kinds of acts to an otherwise ignorable village, and it'll be great.

The building itself leave a bit to be desired, but it was also built for a time pre expensive sound equipment, which makes for nice acoustics. My grandparents live about 2 minutes up the road, which is convenient given that the place doesn't have indoor plumbing...

Then it'll be my father's 50th birthday on Sunday. I've been trying to think of things to "mark" the occasion, but haven't really come up with anything. We're thinking of spray painting his turkeys pink and putting them on sticks around the yard, cuz we can't find any flamingos...
